What’s going on, ZoneBros crew?
I need to vent for a second, and I have a feeling a lot of you are going to relate to this.
Is anyone else just completely over the internet situation here in T&T? I’ve gone through the ringer with both Digicel+ and Bmobile, and honestly, at this point, they’re both stressing me out.
Between the random outages every time rain sets up, the "maintenance" windows that happen right in the middle of a ranked match, and the packet loss during peak hours... it’s becoming impossible to game seriously or even manage the forums efficiently. And don't even get me started on the customer service runaround when you try to call them.
I’m seriously considering dropping the local providers and making the jump to Starlink.
I’ve been reading up on it, and I know a few people locally who made the switch. The feedback I'm hearing is actually pretty surprising:
So, I’m turning it over to the community:Has anyone here pulled the trigger on Starlink yet?

I’ve been reading up on it, and I know a few people locally who made the switch. The feedback I'm hearing is actually pretty surprising:
- Stability: Apparently, it stays up even when T&TEC acts up (if you have a battery backup) and doesn't rely on the cables on the poles outside that always get pulled down.
- Speed: I'm hearing 150Mbps+ is standard.
- Latency: This is my main concern as a gamer. I know old-school satellite was trash for gaming, but Starlink is Low Earth Orbit (LEO). People are claiming they get 50-70ms to US servers, which is comparable to (or sometimes better than) what I'm getting on fiber right now.
So, I’m turning it over to the community:Has anyone here pulled the trigger on Starlink yet?
- How is your ping in games like CoD, Apex, or Val?
- Does heavy tropical rain kill the signal completely?
- Is it actually better than our local fiber, or is it just hype?
