The OP13 Hype Train is Leaving the Station! Who's Ready for "Carrying On His Will"?

Yo, can we take a moment to appreciate that OP-13: Carrying On His Will is literally dropping NEXT WEEK (Nov 7th for the official release, I know some of us have prerelease this week!)? This isn't just another set; it's the 3rd Anniversary Set, and Bandai is absolutely pulling out all the stops.

If you haven't been following the spoilers (or just waiting for the English release), here is why this set is going to be an absolute GAME CHANGER for the meta and the collectors!

Theme: The Brothers and the Bosses!​

The main theme is the Three Brothers (Luffy, Ace, and Sabo), but the set also introduces some of the biggest, most anticipated characters in the entire series!

• New Leaders: We're getting four massive Leaders that immediately shake up the game:
  
  • Red/Green Luffy: Focusing on the Supernovas/Straw Hats. The early spoilers suggest he can get a huge power boost by resting DON!! from the field.
  • Red/Blue Ace: Focusing on the Whitebeard Pirates. A Red/Blue Leader finally getting proper Whitebeard support is huge!
  • Red/Purple Gol D. Roger: THE PIRATE KING IS HERE! 7K base power is insane, and his effect gives him a DON!! acceleration gimmick. Expect this to be a top-tier aggro-midrange monster.
  • Black Imu: Yes, that Imu. The mystery of the franchise is finally being playable, and their strategy revolves around playing the Five Elders (Gorosei). This is a terrifying control/setup deck.

Collector Chaos: The Chase Cards Are INSANE​

Get your wallets ready. The chase hits in this set are legendary:

1. Triple Manga Rares: Luffy, Ace, and Sabo are all getting a Manga Rare variant. This is the Three Brothers Manga Set—collecting all three will be the ultimate flex.
2. The Gorosei SP Cards: The five Elders are getting Special Rares (SP) with alternate art that look absolutely stunning. Plus, there's a rumor of a God Pack that contains all five SP Elders and an Imu Leader AA!
3. 3rd Anniversary Special Arts: There are exclusive art versions of the Three Brothers that are infused with an awesome red flame design. They look incredible.

The Meta Impact​

Imu and Roger are going to be immediate threats.

• Imu Control: The ability to recycle and play the Five Elders from the trash is going to give Black a completely new type of oppressive control game.
• The Power Creep: Cards like the new 9-Cost Edward Newgate Blocker and the new Red/Green/Blue support for the different pirate groups are going to drastically increase the power floor of most decks. The game is getting faster and much more powerful.

I've already pre-ordered my boxes, but I'm legitimately worried about getting sniped for the singles, especially the Imu and Roger staples.
